ABOUT THE GAME
Halfbrick heroes, battle-race chaos
Battle Racing Stars is a side-scrolling battle racer from Halfbrick—the studio behind Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, and Dan the Man. Four runners sprint auto-forward along layered tracks while you jump between lanes, dodge traps, and spend boosts or character gadgets to shove rivals out of the lead.
The roster is a crossover showcase: Barry Steakfries and other Joyride faces, Fruit Ninja ninjas (Mari, Sensei, Katsuro), Dan and Josie, plus oddballs like the Zombie T-Rex and Rory. Each racer brings a small kit of projectiles, traps, shields, or position-swap tricks, so picking a favorite changes how you defend a lead.
Heats are built for short sessions—most finishes land under two minutes. This page embeds a browser HTML5 build so you can learn lane timing and skill cooldowns without installing an app.
HOW IT PLAYS
Auto-run, manual sabotage
- 1
Lanes are your steering wheel
Your character keeps running. You swap vertical lanes and jump to clear spikes, gaps, and other track hazards. A clean line is half the race; the other half is ruining someone else’s.
- 2
Boost and character tools
Nitro-style boosts stretch your lead when the meter is ready. Item / skill buttons fire each hero’s toolkit—projectiles, drop traps, shields, or disruptive attacks that reverse positions. Cooldowns matter more than spamming.
- 3
Arcade modes remix the rules
Quick Play is the standard four-player sprint. Special playlists twist the same tracks: dodge abduction beams in UFO Apocalypse, race with permanent max boost in Auto-Boost / Full Boost, survive a last-place bomb chase in Flappy Bomb, or weave portal-stitched mazes in Portal Mania.
WHAT YOU'RE UNLOCKING
Stronger stars, flashier skins
Wins and playtime feed character upgrades and alternate looks. Leveling a runner improves how hard their kit hits or how reliably they recover, so the same course feels different once your main is upgraded.
Leaderboards and ranked-style playlists reward consistent finishes, not one lucky trap. Treat early races as warm-ups for reading hazard patterns before you start throwing skills mid-pack.

RACE TIPS
Survive first, then grief
- Don’t dump skills into empty air — A projectile that hits nobody wastes a cooldown. Save traps for a crowded climb or when you are about to be overtaken.
- Last place is a death sentence in Flappy Bomb — In bomb modes, finishing second can still win if someone else sits last too long. Focus on not being the trailer rather than perfect first-place lines.
- Learn one map’s hazard rhythm — Spikes and electro grids repeat. Once you know the jump cadence, you free attention for watching rival icons above or below your lane.
- Shields beat greed — If your kit includes a defensive option, use it when the pack stacks behind you. Surviving a pile-on often beats a risky boost into a wall.
