ABOUT THE GAME
Championship under the shadows
Shadow Fighters: Hero Duel is a 2D HTML5 brawler built around a small championship roster: eight fighters, each with their own punch/kick flavor, trading rounds across different arenas. Think quick arcade duels more than a deep ranked sim—readable moves, keyboard chaos, and a story ladder if you want AI instead of a roommate.
The pitch is simple. Pick a hero, learn when to dash, and either push through story opponents or flip into local two-player on the same machine. Nights, streets, temples—the backdrops change; the job stays the same: empty the other health bar.
This page embeds the GameDistribution build. Load it, claim Player 1 on WASD, and give yourself one quiet match against the CPU before inviting Player 2 onto the arrows.
HOW IT PLAYS
Space, poke, then commit
- 1
Eight selectable fighters
Every match starts at character select. Kits differ enough that a button string that works on one hero can whiff on another—try two or three before you decide who “feels” right.
- 2
Story vs local 2P
Story mode chains AI fights toward a champ run. Two-player mode splits the keyboard so a friend can take you apart without online matchmaking.
- 3
Punch, kick, dash
P1 punches on F/G/H and kicks on C/V; double-tap A/D to dash. P2 mirrors that on U/I/O, K/L, and double arrow taps. Movement creates openings; buttons cash them.
WHAT YOU'RE WORKING THROUGH
Climb the bracket, or settle the argument
Solo progress is beating the next story rival and learning matchups as arenas swap. There is no huge loot tree—comfort with one fighter’s timing is the real unlock.
Versus sessions are the replay hook. Same eight names, different human habits. If story feels easy, 2P usually recalibrates your ego in one round.

DUEL TIPS
Dash is not a panic button forever
- Create space before you mash — Walking into their buttons loses rounds. Step back, dash in on a whiff, then use one punch string—not all three keys at once.
- Learn one character’s kick range — C/V (or K/L) often covers different spacing than punches. Knowing which kick checks jump-ins saves story fights.
- 2P needs elbow room — P1 lives on the left half of the keyboard; P2 on arrows and the top letter row. Sit so you are not hitting each other’s hands mid-combo.
- Swap fighters after a cold streak — If one hero’s timing never clicks, pick another instead of blaming lag. The roster is small on purpose—find a fit.
